The County Council, the County Management Board and the County Head carry out their tasks via the County Office and organisational units of the county. Public tasks assigned to the county have been divided into groups that fall within domains of activity of the following county office departments:

- Organisation and Administration Department
- Department of Budget and Finances
- Department of Geodesy and Grounds Management
- Department of Comunication and Transport
- Department of Enviroment, Agriculture and Forestry
- Department of Architecture and Buildings
- Department of Investitions, Funds and Promotion
- Department of Education, Health and Social Affairs

Tasks of the county are performed also by:

- Independent Position - Legal Adviser
- Independent Position - Critical Management
- County Consumer Ombudsman
- Land Registry Position

Organisation and Administration Department ensures, e.g. effective organisation and functioning of the county office, administrative services for the County Council and Management Board, organisation of work in office hours for the county population to submit their motions and complaints.

Department of Budget and Finances takes care of finances of the county.

Department of Geodesy and Grounds Management manages properties owned by the county and the Treasury, its other tasks include also: expropriation, protection of arable land and the mission of the State Geodetic and Cartographic Service.

Department of Comunication and Transport registers vehicles and issues driving licences. It supervises Stations of Vehicle Technical Egzamination and offers permits for domestic .

Department of Enviroment, Agriculture and Forestry performs tasks following from law on use and conservation of inland waters, geological regulations, laws of environment protection, nature conservation, inland fishing, hunting and forest managementpassenger transport.

Department of Architecture and Buildings issues building permits and licences to pull down objects, to use them or change the way of using. It takes in and records all opened buildings.

Department of Investitions, Funds and Promotion prepares documents for investitions and promotional materials about the county.

Department of Education, Health and Social Affairs works on secondary and higher education,  supervises association, examines cases and issues decisions on changing first names, surnames and citizenship.
