Characteristics Baranow Sandomierski commune is located in the Wisla valley, on the right-hand bank of the river, in the north section of the podkarpackie province. It borders communes of: Tarnobrzeg, Nowa Deba, Padew Narodowa, Osiek and Loniow. The Sandomierska Wood grows over 21% of its area. Baranow Sandomierski is counted among the oldest municipal centres not only on the Rzeszów Land but in the whole region of Malopolska. It was granted civic rights in 1354. At present the commune shows mixed agricultural and industrial characteristics. The biggest production works within its limits is the Net Curtains Factory "WISAN" SA in Skopanie. The commune offers a developed technical infrastructure, abundant reserves of the highly skilled labour force ensuring high quality with comparatively low labour costs. Located within the scope of enterprise zones Euro-Park Mielec and Euro-Park Wislosan of Tarnobrzeg, the commune shows a great potential of turning into an enterprising regional centre of industry not only for the county of Tarnobrzeg, but also for the whole land of Podkarpacie.
